2009 Iloilo Feast Site Report

One hundred twelve brethren from the central part of the Philippines including eight from Canada and the US enjoyed the 8 days of rejoicing and feasting of physical and spiritual foods in Punta Villa, Iloilo.

The messages and Bible studies gave inspiration to the brethren on a daily basis. All members and their families enjoyed the setting of the beautiful and elegant venue - the Crystal Ballroom.

A wide variety of activities held in the afternoon ranging from parlor games on the Youth Day and sing-along coupled with distribution of used clothing for members plus a mouth watering roasted calf that was shared by everybody during the Family Day. Variety show presentation, as always, was the highlight of all these activities.

The brethren were inspired from the messages and the Bible Study for the youth conducted by Ken Treybig, this years visiting minister for 3 feastsites in the Philippines. The Festival Video was also greatly appreciated by the brethren. Many were touched by the stories and experiences of our brethren in the Church.

Before and during the Feast, the country was hit hard by two typhoons. It brought calamities to many and destruction of infrastructures, agricultural lands, and lives. But we are all very thankful that God had protected His people and the devastating storms had not lessened the rejoicing of the brethren.

This year, the Feast saw one repentant individual to submit for baptism, promising that henceforth she will live in total obedience to God and His commandments, through the help of God’s Holy Spirit, despite of the ridicule of her family and friends.

In Punta Villa, the closeness of the brethren had made everyone familiar with each other. The fellowshipping was indeed a blessing to all who came for the Feast.

Inspired and encouraged by what they have learned and experienced throughout the Feast, visitors from outside of the country said, they will invite more brethren in their areas to attend the Feast in Iloilo with them next year.

We all give credit to our loving Creator who made the Feast a big success and the best Feast ever!
