Set on the edge of a Borneo jungle and against the backdrop of breathtaking, lush, green mountains is the Shan Shui Golf & Country Club in Tawau, Malaysia where 31 members (including family and children) kept the 2009 FOT.

Most of the brethren – many of whom are former members of the Jerusalem Church of God – stayed together outside their homes during the full eight days for the first time. No one needed encouragement to fellowship as all stayed on one camp in wooden chalets and had all meals together.

Highlights of the Feast were the spiritual messages, a visit to Bukit Gemok (Gemok Hill), the children’s activities and a barbecue followed by karaoke at which the brethren excel.

Mr. Raul Villacote, from Leyte in the Philippines, was the Festival Elder and the main speaker. Various speakers gave the spiritual messages (which focused on God’s plan for humanity) in 3 different languages.

The brethren are already looking forward to spending next year’s Feast of Tabernacles for the full eight days once more.
