Diligence Produces Five New Spokesman Club Graduates
by Edmond Macaraeg

Started after the Feast of Tabernacles in 2002, two out of three of our combined Spokesman and Graduates Clubs have produced five new diligent graduates.

The latest addition to our Spokesman Club graduates is Mr. Osias Eturalde, a public school teacher residing in the municipality of Maramag, province of Bukidnon. He is a member of the Kiara-Maramag-Banisilan Spokesman Club which has scheduled meetings in a home of one of our members in Kiara (about 30 kilometers from Maramag). Naturally, Osias and his wife Alma with their three small children need to stay overnight after the morning Sabbath service, afternoon Bible Study, and Club Meetings in the evening in Kiara. After months of diligent membership (also acting as Club Secretary), he received his graduation Certificate during a Club Meeting in Kiara, Don Carlos, Bukidnon on the night of August 14, 2004.

We have another inspiring example. To demonstrate that remoteness is not an obstacle; we have another Spokesman Club member who has graduated yet he comes from a very distant place. Mr. Quillano Sabello lives with his family in a remote mountainous barangay without any electricity nor running water in the sitio of Upper Lahi, municipality of Pantukan, province of Compostela Valley. To go to Davao City, he has to hike by foot down mountain sides and trails for about three kilometers crossing streams without any bridges; then rides on the back of a motorcycle designed for mountain roads for another seven kilometers until he reaches the highway. From there, it is about an hour to Tagum City, and another hour and a half to Davao City. From the Davao City bus terminal, he takes another ride to the Macaraeg residence where club meetings are conducted twice a month on Saturday nights. In spite of all these difficulties, he has not been known to be absent, and was always able to carry out his club assignments.

He was one of three others from the Davao City Spokesman and Graduate Club who were awarded their graduation Certificates during the formal Ladies Night & Graduation Dinner held last April 17, 2004, at the Ranchero Grill Restaurant in Davao City.

The other graduates have likewise demonstrated exemplary diligence and talent by having regularly been acknowledged for: “Best Business Topics Contribution”, “Best Table Topics Contribution,” and consistent recipients of the following Spokesman Club Cup Awards: “Most Helpful Evaluator”, “Most Improved Speaker,” and “Most Effective Speaker” Awards. Those graduates were: David Nathaniel Macaraeg, Richard John Macaraeg, and Charles Phillip Macaraeg; all from the Davao City congregation.
