The seventh day of the Feast of Tabernacles was one of the most awaited events we youngsters were looking forward to. It is because it’s youth day! In this part of the Feast, we youths have the opportunity to have an activity together, to know each other better, and to be “bonded.”
In the morning of October 7, 2004, our service was enlivened by the little voices of the Baguio festival children’s choir, singing “Ten Commandments.” As they sang in stage, we were all captivated by the toddlers’ zest in singing and doing their best to keep up with the tune and the lyrics of the song. Some were just murmuring, like they knew the song. The youngest stood there and stared, while the others who memorized the piece did their best to deliver the song. They were all marvelous.
After the morning services, all the feast-goers had lunch together.
In the afternoon, it was the teenagers’ turn. Our planned activity was bowling, and bowling it was. We all met at the service hall, and at about 2:30 p.m., we left and proceeded to Baguio’s Center Mall. We were accompanied by Mrs. Cecille Cinco and Mr. Jaycee Evangelista. The bowling alley was located in the third floor of the building. Without hesitation we took the stairs even though there was an elevator available. We had three plays; the first one was just a trial. We were grouped into two; the first group was led by Mrs. Cinco, and the second group by Mr. Evangelista. After the trial, the players that had the highest scores were divided within the two groups. In this year’s youth day, we noticed that many of us improved in the sport. And after bowling, we had our dinner at KFC. When we came back to GSP, we watched the video entitled “Sex Has a Price Tag,” including and the do’s and don’ts about the topic. At about 8 p.m., the video ended. It was another exciting day for the Church youths. We hope that we can do this youth bonding more often. |
