January 2005 started with a new time slot for The Good News of the World Tomorrow broadcast in Davao City. For the past couple of years, we had our broadcast scheduled every Saturday night at 9:00-9:30 on Oldies Radio, broadcasting on FM at 100.3 with the power of 10,000 watts.
On the first week of January, God led us to move to another time slot on the same radio station. Maintaining the same time slot (9:00-9:30) but scheduled on Sunday nights instead, we found ourselves broadcasting right in the middle of the most listened-to classical music stereo program, “Classics at Night,” hosted by a German national residing in Davao City, and whose life and interest is music. He is married to a Filipina.
Because of the enthusiastic response from many listeners inquiring about our broadcast, this German national called our church office the morning after our first airing to arrange for a visit with him. We visited him and his wife that week at their residence, and found out that he used to read Klar und Wahr (German edition of the former Plain Truth magazine). He claims to have copies of booklets published by the late Herbert W. Armstrong.
On another development, on the first Sunday of February this year, we started experimenting with a broadcast of the Good News of the World Tomorrow program in Cagayan de Oro City on Love Radio, 96.9 DXKS-FM, also with a power of 10,000 watts. The time schedule is 8:00-8:30 every Sunday night. We will be studying the response level to the broadcast in this radio station.
Please help pray for the success of these humble efforts to preach the truths of God and the gospel of the kingdom of God as Christ commissioned us to do. |
