Philippine National Office Inaugurated

After six weeks of renovation, Dr. Tom Kirkpatrick, Treasurer and Operations Manager of the United Church of God, and Mr. David Baker, Philippine Office Manager and Senior Pastor for Asia, inaugurated the new national office in Davao City on November 27, accompanied by a ribbon-cutting ceremony and a prayer of dedication led by Dr. Kirkpatrick. All the Philippine elders and their wives were present to witness the event.

Three months prior, on August 31, the Philippine National Council selected 1 Ladislawa, a two-storey office building within the area of a good and safe neighborhood, the Ladislawa Garden Village in Buhangin, Davao City, to be the official location of the Philippine national office for the next two years.

The office renovation began on October 16—just before the Feast of Tabernacles. The design was conceptualized by the staff of the national office, and Manny de Luna Design-Build Architects, one of the most reputable architects in the city, executed the concept. The new office has a Reception Area, Counseling Room, Conference Room, and three working areas for Electronic Media & Technical Support, Administration & Finance, and Mail Processing & Fulfillment. The office interior and color scheme was closely patterned after the Home Office in Cincinnati—burgundy, off-white, and mahogany.

Beginning with the March-April issue of The Good News magazine, the new office will begin mailing about 9,000 copies to subscribers all across the nation. On December 23, we were granted a second-class mailing permit by the Davao City Central Post Office, which would enable us to mail The Good News nationwide at a much lower cost.

We are very thankful to God for providing us with this very nice facility where we can do God’s Work in relative peace and security. We will need your continued prayers for God’s blessing as we undertake this great task of preaching God’s message of His soon-coming Kingdom to this world and taking care of God’s flock in these last days.
