Editorial: The Work Continues to Develop
by David Baker, Philippine Senior Pastor

Greetings everyone!

A lot has happened since I last wrote to you. Dr. Tom Kirkpatrick and I really enjoyed our visit to the Philippines at the end of November. We were very thankful for the opportunity of meeting some of you during the visit. On Sunday, November 27th we held a very enjoyable ministerial meeting in Davao City. It is always a pleasure spending time with the ministry. After a full day of meetings, we were present for the official opening of the new church office located at 1 Ladislawa, Ladislawa Avenue, Buhangin in Davao City. I hope many of you will have an opportunity to see the office. I think you will be very impressed. You can view photos of the office on our Web site and hopefully we can regularly update the photos of the office and staff. I am also happy to inform you that we have an audited statement of our finances which was presented to the SEC earlier this year.

Another development that will take place in the near future is the mailing of The Good News magazine. Up until this point the Good News magazines were processed at the Home Office in Cincinnati and then shipped to the Philippines via a commercial shipping company. Beginning with the March/April issue, The Good News will be bulk shipped to the office in Davao and will be processed locally and then posted to our subscribers. This will generate more work for the office but should be a significant savings for the Church. I hope to be present as we process the first shipment of magazines.

I hope many of you have had an opportunity to view the new Beyond Today broadcast. I was at the Home Office last week and was able to be on the set. I have a much greater appreciation for the many hours of work that are invested into each program. We will try to edit the toll-free number that appears on the screen and replace it with our text number for the Philippines. After editing a few programs we would like to investigate the possibility of utilizing it in the Philippines. In the US we strive to put it on public access channels which are essentially free of charge. If such a venue is available in the Philippines, we would like to pursue such avenues.

I would like to request for your continued prayers as we move forward with the work in our region. I look forward to seeing some of you in March!
