UCG Manila congregation had its summer outing last April 15-16, 2006 at Forest Club in Bay, Laguna. With 73 people in attendance, we had our on-location Sabbath Service which was somewhat timely since it was the third day of the Feast of Unleavened Bread. After dinner, the brethren took their turn dipping into the hot spring water surrounded with trees. A stone-throw from the pool some of the children enjoyed the sight of fireflies underneath the evening sky. It was quite funny to watch the brethren getting out of the water just to cool themselves down since the water was really hot. Some jokingly called it as a “sauna”. After the swimming session, the adults went to the social hall to have their videoke while the youths prefer to play the guitar while sitting in the hammock. Most of the youths preferred to spend the whole evening enjoying their youthful stories.
The following day, some of the brethren tried the obstacle course while others went to the lagoon and tried the “balsa” (raft) ride oftentimes with accidental plunges into the murky water.
With brethren and nature close by, it was indeed a wonderful blessing to ponder on God’s goodness amidst our human frailties during the Days of Unleavened Bread! |
