Thirty-two combined teens and singles from Baguio, Dagupan, and Manila congregations attended the three-day year-end camp last December 27-29 at Ivory Coast, Calatagan, Batangas, south of Manila.
This was the first time that all the youths and singles in Luzon experienced this kind of camp-out. Each camper was so grateful to be a part of this rare opportunity to converge together with fellow youths outside the Feasts of Tabernacles! The excitement and uninhibited fellowshipping upon arrival immediately paved the way for a spontaneous chain of activities everybody obviously missed in between Festivals: from plain exchanging updates among ladies, to group singing, then to playing not-too-long-ago childish games.
Everybody also experienced the joy of helping one another, especially in preparing our meals. The relaxed atmosphere and less structured activities opened up more fun-filled discussions and extended fellowshipping among campers.
Part of the camp highlights were the Bible studies addressing various issues affecting youths in the Church. The Bible study sessions carefully scheduled throughout the stay brought home the importance of choosing the right priorities early in life.
As we bade goodbye to one another, everyone realized the joy of being together—of being united. Yes, we all did not win the games. We all did not cook our food right. But for sure, those wonderful memories we shared together... will be treasured for a very long time.
