On the morning of December 7, 2006 tropical depression Seniang (international code name Utor) formed and entered the area of responsibility of PAGASA. The depression strengthened throughout the day. On December 8, it intensified further and was upgraded to a typhoon on the morning of December 9; the storm made landfall shortly after noon on the same day. Typhoon Seniang killed at least 30 people, and left 8 others missing. Most of those affected were from Samar, Leyte, and neighboring areas.
According to Mr. Florante Siopan, the workshop of Vicente Noriega, one of our local leaders in Leyte, was destroyed because of falling trees. The church assisted him in putting back the shop. Thankfully, no casualty among our members was reported. UNA |
