| To give honor to whom honor is due, the Davao City church, by yearly tradition, sponsored a Recognition Day to honor the achievements of its church youths. It was held during the monthly combined Sabbath service in Davao City, attended by members from Kidapawan, Pantukan, Santo Tomas, and Tagum. The awardees ranged from pre-school to college level and each was given a maroon “Ribbon of Recognition” designed with the United Church of God logo.
A beautifully-wrapped gift was also given to those who graduated from their respective levels. For the pre-school level, special books were given. For the ladies in the higher levels, each received a beautiful oval flower-stained glass with a passage from the Bible inscribed on it. The gentlemen received a rich dark-brown leather wallet with a solar calculator inside. The gifts were generously given by our brethren from Oshkosh, Wisconsin, USA.
After partaking of a sumptuous pot-luck lunch, a big special chocolate cake and ice cream were served as a surprise in honor of the graduates and awardees. Everyone was able to enjoy it as well.
The delight of seeing all the achievements garnered by our youths truly made the Sabbath extra-special. We give all glory and credit to God for all the bright lights that our young people are exuding, which truly cannot be hidden.
