"Time is of the Essence..." - UCG-Manila's First Ladies Night

by Audrey Ruth Angcos, Manila congregation

With the theme “Time is of the Essence,” the UCG-Manila Spokesman and Graduate Club had its very first Ladies Night at the Dynasty Function Room of the Great Eastern Hotel in Quezon City last September 2, 2007 from 4:30 in the afternoon until 8:30 in the evening.

With the shimmering regal setting, fourteen capable Spokesman and Graduate club members with their beautiful and elegant dates graced the said milestone for the UCG-Manila Spokesman and Graduate Club. The marvelous formal setting and fine-looking ambiance arrayed with beautiful flowers added enchantment to the evening. The participation of the ladies during the tabletopics session gave additional zest to this special club meeting. Four club members gave their speeches which centers on the theme “Time is of the Essence.” Everyone was truly astonished by how much the speakers had improved in delivering their speeches. After the first half of the club meeting, everyone enjoyed a sumptuous meal and wonderful fellowship. Some enjoyed laughing with one another as they reminisced their unforgettable memories when they first joined the Spokesman’s Club which took place almost a decade ago! Others took turns in sharing their experiences with the younger club members. After the speakers delivered their speeches, the assigned evaluators for the night took turns in giving constructive evaluation to their fellow club members. The evening was capped by the giving of awards to deserving club members: Most Helpful Evaluator Award to Arnel G. Angcos & Gil R. Ellamil; Most Improved Speaker Award to Virgilio P. Belga, Jr.; and Most Effective Speech Award to Virgilio P. Belga, Jr. & Leonardo S. Bautista.

It was evident that everyone enjoyed the Ladies Night. As the evening came to an end, people took turns taking pictures of almost everyone that would serve as a wonderful remembrance of this wonderful event. Everybody left the hall smiling and with a renewed enthusiasm as they called this event an event to remember.
